According to scientific evidence,
the art of carpet weaving has existed in Iran since ancient times. Area

milleniums ago. One piece of evidence found is what is known as the
Pazyric carpet. Scientific experts claim that it dates back to 500 B.C.
during the Achaemenid period. In general, the art of weaving has
underwent many changes in various eras of Iranian history due to the
upward trend that came about before the Islamic era until the Mongols
invasion of Iran. After the invasion, weaving Persian rugs began to grow
again during the reign of the Mongol dynasties of Timurid and Ilkhanid.
With the passage of time, the materials used in

archaeologists are rarely able to make any particularly useful
