Weaving
Oriental Rugs
has been a way of life for a large part of the world.
From the exotic land of eastern Asia to the remote Caucasian village of
southern USSR, the ancient craft of hand knotting carpets has been
handed down for thousands of years. Persian rugs are popular in the
well-designed homes of today, keeping rug prices on an upward trend.
When purchasing Handmade Rugs, the materials used, the pile
material, and the dye quality must be considered. Silk, wool, and cotton
yarns must be evaluated for quality and evaluated for the use of natural
dyes versus synthetic dyes, as natural is always preferred. Age also,
affects the value of rugs. Antique rugs most often tend to be greater in
value.
ORIENTAL RUGS:
We have
Area Rugs
that come from all over the world such as: Egypt,
Caucasus (part of Russia), Europe ( Aubusson, Tapestry, Needlepoint
and hooked carpets), and Navaho( Native American Weaved Kilims).
Furthermore, handmade rugs weaved in Asia can come from Iran,
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, India, or China. Antique rugs coming
from this part of the world are better in quality due to the following
reasons:
. The Amazing Quality that the wool bears
. The Weaving Knowledge of the people from this part of the world in rugs
. The technique they use to dye the wool using vegetables.
Furthermore, a strong emphasis has been placed on the quality of
Persian Rugs which are known to last centuries and are noted to
bring character, a dependable virtue, and uniqueness to your home.
HANDMADE RUGS:
You might wonder why these carpets
are made. The answer is because Iranian magicians will not fly most of
the (unreal) carpets that overwhelm our apartments and homes today.
Seriously, we need to point out what is considered to be a real Oriental
Rugs. Real area rugs are made from wool and are created by the patient
hands of women from these countries. The accentuation of this statement
is not as much stressed at women from these countries as at hands for
these rugs have one feature that no machine can replicate. It has a
complete form made with character and precision, an unrepeatable
texture, and a unique material. In technical terms describing an element
of facture, the real carpet's pile is fixed on the base threads with a
tied knot, which can not be done by a machine but by human fingers. The
pile of a machine-made rug is simply stuck between the base and the
wefts. Wouldn't you consider a rug that is thoroughly hand-knotted and
tied a real rug versus something that is simply stuck for construction?
Furthermore, in reference to what a real carpet consists of,
Persian Rugs
and Antique Rugs almost never woven with any
synthetic material which is used in the machine-made carpets.
ANTIQUE RUGS:
According to scientific evidence,
the art of carpet weaving has existed in Iran since ancient times. Area
Rugs have not only existed within the 19th and 20th centuries but also
milleniums ago. One piece of evidence found is what is known as the
Pazyric carpet. Scientific experts claim that it dates back to 500 B.C.
during the Achaemenid period. In general, the art of weaving has
underwent many changes in various eras of Iranian history due to the
upward trend that came about before the Islamic era until the Mongols
invasion of Iran. After the invasion, weaving Persian rugs began to grow
again during the reign of the Mongol dynasties of Timurid and Ilkhanid.
With the passage of time, the materials used in
Handmade Rugs
, including wool and cotton, decay. As a result,
archaeologists are rarely able to make any particularly useful
discoveries during archaeological excavations of Oriental Rugs. What has
remained from early times as evidence of rug weaving is nothing more than a few
pieces of worn-out carpets. Such fragments do not help very much in recognizing
the carpet-weaving characteristics of the pre-Seljuk period (13th and 14th
centuries AD) in Iran.
PERSIAN RUGS
Handmade rugs have been a tradition
for over 2500 years. Area Rugs are a new flower blossoming from
one of the biggest branches of an ancient and colorful yet damaged tree
that portrays the Iranian culture . These people are very
tradition-oriented and this characteristic can be seen in the way that
they weave carpets. Each village or city in Iran has an ancient and
traditional rug pattern that has been maintained in that region for
centuries and sometimes millenniums. The distinct designs of each city
are particular to that city alone and although famous designs have been
imitated elsewhere in the country a few times , they have never been
duplicated. Iran is also the place where many other styles are made,
such as Turkish, Caucasian, Armenian, Kazak, Afghanistan and India. This
is a dense chapter in the book of Iran's culture because it visually
shows the greatest obsessions of the Iranian culture, which are the
beauty of nature, literature, and true love. These are what make these
oriental rugs one of the most prestigious things to be placed in any
home.
Antique Rugs
from this culture inspire those from afar with their
amazing designs, colors, and detailed qualities.
